    Erika Moen is really great, and this comic she made is also really great, and it makes me want to get up on my soap box for just a minute:

    The amount of intolerance I’ve experienced from both straight and gay people (“gay” here being used as an umbrella term) as a person of fluid sexuality (see: queer) is highly disappointing. I never expected the preaching and the bashing and the cold-shouldering from other gay people—it’s like, what, am I not gay enough for you? Is my non-normative sexuality somehow not as valid as yours because I’m a cisgendered woman and sometimes I want to bone cisgendered men? Please. I know you don’t like it when narrow-minded assholes tell you your sexuality is wrong. Don’t become that narrow-minded asshole.

    And hey, straight people, stop asking me if I “swing both ways.” First of all: rude! I don’t say to you, “So, you only swing one way?” Because it’s obnoxious. Second, this assumes that I am only interested in cisgendered individuals of either sex, and I am not, because gender, like sexuality, exists on a spectrum and so you see, there are more than two ways a person can swing THERE ARE SO MANY WAYS YOU GUYS and this is why I will begrudgingly respond to your question with, “I just like people.”

    In furious conclusion: I am pretty sure my sexuality is something I get to define and experience for myself, because it’s my mind and my body, and if you’re not okay with that, it’s your problem.
